Scheduler

We are looking for a highly organized and coordinated Scheduler to join our Collingwood team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the installation schedule for our installers and subcontractors.
Van Dolder’s Custom Exteriors is a Canadian, family-owned business with more than 60 years of experience serving homeowners and builders throughout Southern Ontario. With locations in Collingwood and Owen Sound, we specialize in quality exterior products including windows, doors, siding, garage doors, decking, sunrooms, and more, supported by professional installation and personalized customer service.
Job Overview
We are looking for a highly organized and coordinated Scheduler to join our Collingwood team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the installation schedule for our installers and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
  • Schedule installation jobs with installers and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate customer availability and assign jobs to appropriate crews.
  • Balance workloads and maintain an efficient installation schedule.
  • Reschedule appointments due to weather, product delays, staffing issues, or customer requests.
  • Confirm products, hardware, and materials are available before scheduling installations.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, shipping/receiving staff, and suppliers regarding material availability and deliveries.
  • Ensure installers and subcontractors have accurate job details, locations, timing, and requirements.
  • Confirm appointments and communicate arrival windows, preparation instructions, and schedule updates to customers.
  • Respond professionally to customer questions, concerns, delays, and schedule changes.
  • Follow up with customers after installation to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate job and scheduling information using scheduling software, CRM systems, spreadsheets, Outlook, and Business Central.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and other issues that may affect installation timelines.
  • Provide Job Completion forms to installers.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2–5 years of scheduling, coordination, dispatch, or related experience.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage changing schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and spreadsheets.
We are willing to train the right candidate. Experience in construction, installation scheduling, and shipping/receiving is an asset, but strong organization, communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills are essential to success in this role.
Compensation
$23.00 – $26.00 per hour, based on qualifications and relevant experience.
Work Hours
Tuesday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Full-time | 40 hours per week

As a Home Team Eavestrough Installer, your day-to-day tasks will involve driving to job sites, removing old eavestrough from homes and cottages and professionally installing new eavestrough systems.

We’re looking for a motivated and energetic individual dedicated to delivering quality installations and craftsmanship. We take pride in our attention to detail, and the ideal candidate will too. On top of a hard work ethic, the ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of eavestrough installation experience (not required)
  • Have a passion for quality and service
  • Have a valid Working At Heights certification or be willing and able to obtain it
  • Have a valid G-class driver’s license
  • Be comfortable climbing, carrying and setting up ladders
  • Be comfortable using various hand tools including drills, saws, grinders, tape measures, etc.
  • Other construction or windows, doors and siding installation experience is considered an asset

Salary: Starting wage of $25–$27 per hour, depending on qualifications, skills, and other considerations.
